Romy is a Veterinary Assistant on the Valley team and we are so thankful to have her join our Valley team. Romy has a love for all animals, she especially likes wildlife and exotic pets, and she will take great care of your pets when they visit Valley, but she is freaked out by spiders! (We know the feeling.) She is a foster for cats and there is always three or four cats or kittens hanging around from Carma or the SPCA, she has fostered 15 cats over the past four years. She is a night owl and that comes in handy with a toddler and needing to bottle-feed the kittens that she fosters.

She is from a tiny village Moergestel in the Netherlands. Romy followed her husband, Pieter here after they reconnected in the Netherlands, they went to kindergarten together and have an almost made for TV story! She moved to Fredericton seven years ago and they have a toddler son named Ezra, and their fur family includes Trooper the Staffordshire Terrier, Odin the cat who started out as a foster. She adopted Trooper from the Fredericton SPCA after he was at the shelter for almost a year and he is her heart dog, he is always there for her with extra cuddles when she misses the Netherlands.
